Prayer #26: St. Patrick’s Breastplate

I arise today through

God’s strength to pilot me.

God’s might to uphold me.

God’s wisdom to guide me.

God’s eye to see before me.

God’s ear to hear me.

God’s word to speak for me.

God’s hands to guard me.

God’s way to lie before me.

God’s shield to protect me.

God’s host to secure me

against snares of devils,

against temptations and vices,

against inclinations of nature,

against everyone who shall wish me ill,

afar and near, alone and in a crowd…

Christ be with me, Christ before me,

Christ behind me,

Christ in me, Christ beneath me,

Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left.

Christ where I lie, Christ where I sit,

Christ where I arise.

Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me.

Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me.

Christ in every eye who sees me.

Christ in every ear that hears me.

Salvation is of the Lord.

Salvation is of the Lord,

Salvation is of Christ.

May your salvation, O Lord, be ever with us.

Prayer #27: Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.

Body of Christ, save me.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from Christ’s side, wash me.

Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Within Thy wounds hide me.

Permit me not to be separated from Thee.

From the malicious enemy, defend me.

In the hour of my death, call me.

And bid me come unto Thee.

That I may praise Thee,

With Thy saints and with Thy angels.

Forever and ever Amen.

Prayer #28: Holy Family

Dear St. Joseph, whom we venerate

with Mary and Jesus as the

Holy Family, keep our family well

and holy as we strive to imitate you

here on earth. Assist us to fulfill

our solemn parental duties of safeguarding and nurturing humanly

and spiritually the cherished children

God has given us. Keep them safe

from physical and moral harm and

inspire them to make wise choices

in life that reflect their ongoing

love of the Lord and eagerness

to serve Him faithfully through life.

Extend your protective hand over all

the members of the church as their

beloved patron and protector.

We ask this in Jesus’ name under

Mary’s loving gaze. Amen.

Prayer #29: O Immaculate Virgin Mary

Mother of Mercy, you are the

refuge of sinners, the health of the sick,

and the comfort of the afflicted.

You know my wants, my troubles,

my sufferings. By your appearance at

the Grotto of Lourdes you made it a

privileged sanctuary where your favors

are given to people streaming to it from the whole world.

Over the years countless sufferers have obtained the

cure for their infirmities whether of

 soul, mind, or body.

Therefore I come to you with limitless confidence

to implore your motherly intercession.

Obtain, O loving Mother, the grant of

my requests. Through gratitude for

Your favors, I will endeavor to imitate

Your virtues, that I may one day

share in Your glory. Amen.

Prayer #30: St. Barbara, Virgin and Martyr

Father in heaven, who among

the other miracles of Your power,

have given to men and women

of holy faith the victory of martyrdom,

grant, we beseech You, that we,

who are celebrating

the birthday to life eternal of

Saint Barbara,

your virgin and martyr,

may through her intercession,

one day receive the reward of

eternal life in your

heavenly kingdom. Amen.

Prayer #31: Prayer to St. Joseph

Oh St. Joseph whose protection

is so great, so strong, so prompt

before the Throne of God,

I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh St. Joseph do assist me

by your powerful intercession

and obtain for me from your

Devine Son all spiritual blessings

through Jesus Christ, Our Lord;

so that having engaged here

below your heavenly power

I may offer my Thanksgiving

and Homage to the most

Loving of Fathers. Oh St. Joseph,

I never weary contemplating you and

Jesus asleep in your arms.

I dare not approach while

He reposes near your heart.

Press him in my name and

kiss his fine Head for me,

and ask him to return the Kiss

when I draw my dying breath.

St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls,

Pray for us. Amen.

Prayer #32: Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind but now I see.

T’was Grace that taught

My heart to fear.

And Grace my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers,

toils and snares

We have already come.

T’was Grace that brought

us safe thus far…

And Grace will lead us home.

When we been here ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun.

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Then when we’ve first begun.

Prayer #33: St. Anthony

St. Anthony, help me find

ways to honor God’s blessings

by showing my love

for all of God’s creatures.

Show your strength that I may cope

with the trials and troubles of daily life.

You, through whose voice the

Word of God was preached,

intercede for my needs.

(make request here)

Powerful Patron, be with me always

and teach me to reach out in love

and support to others. Amen.

St. Anthony, Pray for us.

Prayer #34: Morning Offering to the Sacred Heart

O Jesus, though the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I offer You my prayers, works,

joys, and sufferings of this day,

in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

offered throughout the world, in reparation for my sins,

for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart,

for the intentions of the Immaculate  Heart of Mary,

for the intentions of all my family, friends,

relatives and benefactors, and in particular,

for the intentions of our Holy Father. Amen.

Prayer #35: Thy Servant Departed

Grant, O Lord, this mercy to

Thy servant departed, that he

who in his desires did Thy will,

may not receive the punishment

of his misdeeds; and that as true faith

hath joined him to the company of the

faithful here below,

Thy mercy may make him the companion

of the holy angels in heaven.

Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord!

And let perpetual light shine upon him.

May he rest in peace. Amen.

And  may the souls of all the faithful

departed, through the mercy of God,

rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer #36: Act of Contrition

O my God,

I am heartily sorry for having offended You,

and I detest all my sins because of

Your just punishments,

but most of all because they offend You,

My God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love.

I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace,

to sin no more, and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

Prayer #37: Penitential Rite

I confess to almighty God,

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have sinned through my own fault

( we strike our breast )

in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done,

and in what I have failed to do;

and I ask blessed Mary , ever virgin,

all the angels and saints,

and you my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

May almighty God have mercy on us,

Forgive us our sins,

And bring us to everlasting life. Amen.

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
